I WON THE ELECTION, AZIMIO ASPIRANT NOW DECLARES

BY JAMES WAFULAWORKERS EYENAIROBI.

Even before the presidential petition he has lodged at the supreme court of Kenya is heard and determined in the next 14 days, Azmio’s Raila Odinga is demanding that he be sworn in as next president within the next 48 hours since he won the August 9 2022 closely contested race!Addressing thousands of cheering supporters in Mombasa, Odinga told off IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati for using computer hackers to “deny him victory” and give to his main rival deputy president William Ruto now President-Elect after being “compromised”.
Odinga’s defiant stand even as the courts begins the process of hearing the petition has thrown the presidential election results dispute into a spin likely to trigger unrest if not well managed. In the past 2013-2017 presidential elections deeply divisive acrimony over the winner almost tore the country down the middle.
Odinga spoke as IEBC filed responses to his petition delivering volumes of ballot election material at the supreme court head office in Milimani, within upperhill in Nairobi.IEBC senior officials, returning officers and battery of high profile lawyers escorted the tonnes of documentary responses to Raila’s petition.Meanwhile President Elect Dr. Ruto, 55, has kept a studious silence just like his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta whose two term tenure expires this month when he must hand over to a successor. But he is likely to continue in office if the court overturns Ruto’s win and orders a repeat election that must be held by November 2022 which would nullify any attempt to swear in Ruto as president-elect.
