The Union said its concerned about continued harassment by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in the capital, Mogadishu.<br>SOCOWU Chairman Eng Mohamed Abdullahi, demanded for an immediate end to any unfair treatment and harassment directed at its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/ugandajournalistsunion.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG-20240118-WA0005.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2993\" style=\"width:479px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugandajournalistsunion.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG-20240118-WA0005.jpg 750w, https:\/\/ugandajournalistsunion.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG-20240118-WA0005-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ugandajournalistsunion.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG-20240118-WA0005-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a strong worded Press Statement dated January 16, 2024, SOCOWU demanded from NISA leaders and government officials to unconditionally release all detained workers being held incommunicado.<br>The Union calls for adherence to justice, and noted need for workers&#8217; rights to be respected and for an environment where citizens can contribute to national development without fear or favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SOCOWU calls on federal government leaders, including the President and the Prime Minister, to intervene in the matter and release all the workers.<br>&#8221; We appeal to government to take decisive action against those responsible for harassment and detention of Workers at Hormuud Mogadishu&#8221;, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eng.
