Team Uganda lost to Kenya 0-6 in the return leg of the 2022 Africa Zone Series at Legends Rugby grounds yesterday
The tie was the 5th edition for the American Football Africa Zone Series held at Legends in Kampala. This outing is a championship that started 4 years in which Uganda played hosts for the first time ever over the weekend.
Uganda chances of qualifying for a slot at the European Championship fazed out following their loss as Kenya emerged Africa’s solo representative. Uganda first tied on points with Kenya in previous outing.
‘’The future is bright this being the first full contact game for team Uganda it’s been quite impressive the work put in by my Players as we used this as a marketing platform to attract more players to the sport.’’ a happy team Uganda Coach Shudais Mpanga recalled.
The General Secretary, National Council of Sports Dr. Patrick Ogwel pledged full support from government saying;
‘’You fought on playing a good game and l see you need more friendlies and game time to perfect your art of play. Your opponents Kenya have more game time and exposure as l have been informed. With more games we need to improve on the feeding of the team to become stronger for our opponents” Ogwel added.
