Uganda Journalists Union (UJU) and Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) have strengthened cooperation that will ensure joint Press Freedom monitoring, training , advocacy and trade union development . UJOSS Secretary General Mr Majak Kuany Alier (right) and UJU General Secretary Mr Stephen Ouma Bwire held discussions at UJU offices, Equatoria Mall in Kampala. UJU has continued to assist UJOSS members on training and safety especially during turbulent times at home. Uganda Journalists Union and Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ) were instrumental in formation of UJOSS. KUJ Secretary General Mr Erick Oduor and Mr Stephen Ouma Bwire have been to Juba several times to assist UJOSS on media development programs. UJOSS members have been on study tours to Kenya and Uganda as part of regional cooperation. UJU and KUJ seconded UJOSS to affiliate with the International Federation of Journalists( IFJ).
